On July 4, CATL unveiled CATL TIANXING, its first EV battery brand for commercial applications, along with two products for light commercial vehicles, namely CATL TIANXING-L superfast charging edition and CATL TIANXING-L long range edition, which can achieve 4C superfast charging and a maximum range of 500 kilometers respectively. 

"CATL TIANXING" is inspired by a great line in the Book of Changes: "Just as Heaven maintains vigor through movement, a gentleman makes unremitting efforts to perfect himself," standing as a tribute to commercial vehicle users and upstream and downstream partners. 

"Four Super Technologies" Empower the Development of New Energy Commercial Vehicles 

Slow energy recharging, high cost of ownership, and short transport mileage are the main pain points faced by the new energy commercial vehicle industry. For this reason, while prioritizing innovation initiatives, CATL has vigorously promoted its four advanced technologies – super safety, super-fast charging, super-long service life, and super-long range in the new energy commercial vehicle industry. With regard to energy recharging, CATL super-fast charging technology has been widely applied in a number of CATL product systems, with the help of profound technological improvements and multiple iterations. The launch of CATL TIANXING allows commercial vehicle users to experience super-fast charging, which will significantly reduce charging time and boost efficient operations. 

By adopting CATL's low-lithium consumption graphite and biomimetic self-repairing SEI passivation film technology, CATL TIANXING is able to achieve 4C super-fast charging and increase battery cycle life by 100% at the same time, greatly improving battery reliability in the whole life cycle, thus providing users with a convenient driving experience. 

CATL TIANXING batteries incorporate CTP (Cell to Pack) 3.0 technology and optimized topological structure, significantly enhancing grouping efficiency. Meanwhile, it implements dual-layer large-surface liquid cooling. With super high energy density and efficient thermal management, the products have dramatically improved its range performance and reduced battery weight as well. 

Leading the industry with 500KM Long Range and 4C Superfast Charging 

CATL launched two advanced mass-produced CATL TIANXING batteries for logistics application – CATL TIANXING-L superfast charging edition and CATL TIANXING-L long range edition. 

CATL TIANXING-L superfast charging edition offers 4C superfast charging and an 8-year/800,000-kilometer warranty. Equipped with a power capacity of 140-kWh, it supports a driving range of 350 km under actual working conditions, far exceeding the industry average. 

With a superfast charging speed of refilling 60% SOC in 12 minutes, the superfast charging edition can meet various freight needs. For suburban transportation or urban delivery, users can have a fast charge on the go, not only reducing waiting time but improving freight frequency and operational efficiency of vehicles. 

The long range edition offers a super-long range of 500km and an 8-year/ 800,000-kilometer warranty. Equipped with power capacity of 200-kWh, users will not have to worry about battery drain. Regardless of any distance, either from Beijing to Hohhot, or from Kunming to Guiyang, there is no need to charge on the way, better meeting the needs for intercity long-distance freight. 

With an energy density of 200Wh/kg, the highest in the logistics industry, CATL TIANXING-L long range edition can reduce the total weight of vehicles by 300kg, offering more payloads and enabling users to carry more, run further, and earn more. 

Regardless of the product, the 8-year/800,000-kilometer full life-cycle warranty can effectively reduce the total cost of ownership and achieve a higher resale value, offering the most profitable solution for commercial vehicle customers.

Mass Production Upon Launch, with Full-Scenario Coverage 

The logistics industry involves varied and diverse scenarios. In order to meet the individual needs of commercial vehicle users, apart from providing a menu of solutions with a battery capacity of 30-200kWh and a driving range of 150-500km, CATL TIANXING-L batteries also support super-fast charging and range extending applications, with full-scenario coverage in the logistics industry. 

Meanwhile, CATL TIANXING-L batteries have been used on 21 models from 13 automakers including Foton, Geely, Dongfeng, JAC, Weichai, FAW Jiefang, Changan Kuayue, Wuling, Qingling, Ruichi, Shaanxi Auto, Shineray, and SAIC Yuejin, achieving mass production upon launch, so that users can place orders immediately. 

In the future, CATL TIANXING will launch more products to meet the needs of various commercial vehicle segments and speed up electrification across the industry.
