Recently, Sichuan Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL-SC) was selected as a “National Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmarking Enterprise," making it the second EV battery manufacturing facility in China receiving this title following CATL’s Ningde facility. This is another national honor CATL-SC has won following the title “demonstration factory for intelligent manufacturing”. 

The honorary title of "Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmarking Enterprise," with the aim of setting up an outstanding example for boosting intelligent manufacturing in different industries, is evaluated and awarded by the China Electronics Standardization Institute in accordance with the national standards of the Maturity Model of Intelligent Manufacturing Capability and the Maturity Assessment Method of Intelligent Manufacturing Capability. 

Aimed at intelligent sensing, intelligent computing and intelligent synergy, CATL-SC is making all-round efforts to step up the extreme manufacturing of EV battery. Thanks to the extensive adoption of digital twin technology, the productivity in the process of product development and manufacturing has been increased by 25%. With the help of trillion pieces of big data about lithium-ion battery technology, CATL-SC is able to achieve the traceability of millions of products in one minute. In addition, the introduction of AI and spectrum analysis technology enables intelligent detection of product quality throughout the entire life cycle and fosters technology upgrading, improving the failure rate of battery cells from PPM level to PPB level.
